Julie Winchester, MA, LPC Associate
Licensed Professional Counselor Associate
I offer professional Christian counseling for teens, adult individuals, couples (including premarital and marriage therapy), and families. Whether you’re looking for support related to relationship issues, grief, anxiety, depression, trauma, or other issues, it would be my privilege to witness the Lord’s work in your life through counseling. With empathy and compassion, I would be honored to listen to your story and help you determine the primary causes of your challenges and concerns. My clients will also benefit from the supervision I receive from Meredith A. Ivey, LPC-S, RPT-S, a licensed supervisor with more than 18 years of clinical experience. Together we will identify a customized treatment plan to meet your needs, then take the necessary steps for you to experience the healing and growth you desire.

My Goal as a Christian Counselor
As a Christian counselor, my goal is to help you explore and understand your story. As we work together and talk about your current situation and your goals for counseling, my hope is that you gain clarity and understanding about areas in your life that need healing. I believe that change, growth, and healing are possible with the guidance of counseling and the Lord.
What I Offer in Christian Counseling
There is hope and healing on the other side of life’s messiness. My practice exists to help you find that hope and healing. I offer a safe supportive environment where you can share your story, gain insight into God’s purpose and plan for your life, and experience healing. We will work together, with God, to unpack the events, dynamics, and relational patterns that have shaped who you are and take steps toward reaching your goals for treatment.
My Approach to Christian Counseling
Christian counseling involves a journey of discovering the root cause of your situation by finding truth in God’s Word, gaining a better understanding of God’s plan for your life, and aligning your choice with His will. As a Christian counselor, I seek the Lord’s guidance and discernment when counseling clients. If the client is comfortable, I am honored to pray with them and/or for them in session.
Qualifications & Experience
I have a BA in History and Elementary Education from the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA), an MA in Marriage and Family Therapy and an MA in Professional Counseling, both from Amberton University. I also hold a SYMBIS certification for premarital counseling.
My Call to Christian Counseling
I was born and raised in Arlington, Texas. After 30+ years of marriage and raising and homeschooling our three kids, the Lord moved my heart to pursue counseling. Realizing I enjoyed my time spent in local church ministry with women, couples, and grief group settings, God called me to the next chapter of my story counseling others.

Marriage Counseling
Relationships are never perfect, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be fulfilling. The key is to find ways to work through the ups and downs. With the help of God’s Word and guidance, together we can make your relationship stronger than ever.
Women’s Issues
Women have many roles, including roles as wife, mother, daughter, friend, and co-worker. At times when life is overwhelming, you may feel hopeless. Fear, doubt, and uncertainty can creep in and steal our joy. Do you take care of everyone before yourself? Are you your harshest critic? You don’t have to be; there is hope for tomorrow. It’s time to invest in yourself.
Grief and Loss
Grief is a natural response to any type of loss, but incredibly difficult to cope with. The grieving process allows us to come to terms with our loss and begin the healing process. If you are living life with grief, you don’t have to suffer in silence. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). With Christ’s guidance you can find a way forward in hope with me walking with you each step of the way.
Premarital Counseling
Couples who gain knowledge about themselves and each other before they say “I do” are more likely to have successful marriages. Pre-marriage counseling gives you the tools and insights to help you better navigate marriage. The SYMBIS assessment provides conversation starters that help get to the heart of the matter with topics that include finances, communication, and the complexities of joining two sets of personality dynamics.
Online Counseling
Don’t have time to come in person for counseling? Do you prefer the comfort of your own home or office? If you have reliable internet access, online counseling may provide the solution.
